time-consuming approval processes. All you need to do is submit an
offer to purchase on our standard sale contract and then you
can get to work on those final construction plans!
So that everyone has fair opportunity to purchase publicly owned land,
and in the interest of growing our neighborhoods, we do not sell on a
speculative basis. If you are ready to build, we are ready to sell.
Here’s how it works:

Select a site. |

Ask a builder or architect about
your plans to be sure that they will conform to zoning and that they will be
appropriate for the neighborhood in all respects. |

Talk to a lender about your
financing needs. |
|
Then make us a reasonable offer
if you are prepared to go forward now. |
It’s that simple.
After we accept your offer, you will be required to: |

Close the sale within 90 days. |
|
Complete new home construction
within 9 months of closing. |
|
Complete commercial construction
within a mutually agreeable time frame. |
In order to close, you must do two things: |

Submit final construction plans
for our review and approval. |
|
Submit copies of firm financing
commitments in amounts necessary to complete your project. |
Here’s what you need to know about lot and plan approval: |

The City of Milwaukee expects
that all real estate development projects will be designed in ways that
respect the environment. This generally means that structures are
sympathetic to neighborhood context in terms of site planning and building
proportions, and, that land uses are not threatening to the community’s
health and safety. |

Larger parcels of land will be
divided in a manner that is consistent with present neighborhood platting. |
