Building on Momentum

The City of Milwaukee is updating its downtown master plan to guide development over the next decade. Residents, business-owners, employees, and anyone with an interest in the future of the downtown were invited to participate in a two hour community workshop on April 23rd. The workshop provided a hands-on opportunity to meet the downtown plan team, envision the future of downtown, and contribute local knowledge to the plan as the City strives to provide a framework for development that encourages investment and builds a unique sense of community and place.

The City of Milwaukee is preparing area plans for the entire city. The 1999 Downtown Plan has helped to guide development over the past eight years and is now in need of review and update.

The downtown planning process will build on the momentum of the 1999 Plan and provide a document with guidance for the future.
