Near South Side Area Plan Background

Lead consultant for the plan is HNTB. Sub consultants are ABRAZO, Aqui!, and The Center for Neighborhood Technology.

All necessary funding for the Near South Side Plan has been secured. The City of Milwaukee funded half of the project. Our list of generous funding partners is 5th Ward Association, Associated Bank, Continental Savings Bank, Council for the Spanish Speaking, e & co., Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Hope House, Layton State Bank, Lincoln Neighborhood Redevelopment Corporation, M&I, Mitchell Bank, Rockwell Automation, Sonag Company, Inc., Thomas A. Mason Co., Tri City National Bank, U.S. Bank, and Vidal & Associates.

Plan goals
The overall goals of the Near South Side Plan are to:

» Build upon the strengths of the neighborhoods within the plan area;
» Provide a predictable regulatory process;
» Optimize the long-term value of public and private investments; and
» Generate consensus among businesses, property owners, residents and associations.
