Near North Area Plan Background
The Near North Side covers a broad segment of Milwaukee, including
the northern portion of the 30th Street Industrial Corridor, three Business
Improvement Districts, the Milwaukee River and Lincoln Creek, a variety of
housing options, several neighborhood parks and schools, and a number of active
community organizations.
The purpose of the Near North Side Area Plan is to evaluate the assets and
opportunities of the area in order to guide new development that builds upon its
resources, in a context that responds to the area’s history, natural areas, and
cultural resources.
