Citywide Plans
The Citywide Contract
Management Team
is the core group that sets the Citywide Policy Plan's original working budget, schedule, and
tasks and manages the contracts with consultants. The team is
responsible for carrying out the day-to-day activities of the
comprehensive planning process including but not limited to public
participation, document drafting, and navigating through the
approval process. Team members include City Planning managers and staff and the City's
consultants.
The Citywide Plan Advisory
Committee is
responsible for making recommendations for public participation, plan
development, and plan implementation. The committee
reviews the work produced by the Citywide Contract Management Team at all major milestones of
the planning process, with a minimum of six reviews. The Committee includes
representatives from all levels of government, major corporations, non-profit organizations, business
improvement districts, neighborhood organizations, homeowners,
residents, and business owners.
The
Citywide Technical Working
Committees are responsible for contributing knowledge and ideas for the
development of citywide comprehensive plan elements. Each committee focuses on a special issue or
element in the plan. Committee members generally have special
knowledge of the element and are recruited from government,
corporations, non-profit organizations, educational institutions, and
the business community.
Area Plans
The Area Plan Contract
Management Team is the core group that sets the original working
budget, schedule, and tasks and manages the contract with hired
consultants. The team meets frequently to carry out the technical
activities of the planning process. Members are key City staff and
community organizations/groups with broad constituencies and community
organizing capabilities that will ultimately take on responsibility for
moving plan recommendations forward, once adopted.
The Area Plan Advisory
Committee is a group of approximately 50-100 key community
stakeholders who serve as the plan advisors and ambassadors. The
committee meets approximately 6-8 times throughout the planning process
to review the work of the hired consultants at all major milestones of
the planning process. Members are responsible for making recommendations
for public participation, plan development, and plan implementation.
Most importantly, members will be called upon to help get out the word
to the general public of upcoming input sessions such as surveys,
meetings, workshops and open houses.
The
Area Plan Project Management
Committee is a group of City staff with special skills and
knowledge that participate in all stages of the planning process, as
needed. Members meet with the project manager and consultants and attend
community meetings when issues arise that require specialized knowledge.
