Automotive site
Mayor Barrett announced the City of Milwaukee is
proposing to acquire 84 acres of the former Tower Automotive site for
environmental clean-up and eventual redevelopment of the site to attract

Menomonee Valley project.

DCD issued a request for development
proposals for a key corner in the Riverwest neighborhood at 821-33 East Locust
Street. The l0,800 square foot vacant lot on the corner of Locust and Bremen
Streets, is currently used as a community park and seasonal farmer’s market. The
City of Milwaukee is seeking proposals that incorporate this community space
within the site to continue the popular Riverwest tradition.

The City is working with partners like Gorman & Company and
the Northwest Side CDC to build a stronger Villard Avenue neighborhood. You can

Square project. “It’s housing that builds ‘community’ and it supports the growth
of the kids in the neighborhood – we’re looking for more opportunities to add
housing developments that foster stronger support systems for families,” said
