Main Street Milwaukee funding

Each Main Street Milwaukee district receives $50,000 yearly for three years in Community Development Block Grant dollars to offset the cost of the district’s operations and projects. This yearly grant must be matched by at least $10,000 in private funds, to be raised by the districts themselves.

Each Main Street Milwaukee district also receives $50,000 worth of technical assistance each year for three years, administered by LISC and funded by LISC and its private-sector contributors. Technical services include visioning and work plan development, staff and volunteer training, architectural and planning services, and small business assistance.

Main Street Milwaukee funding may vary yearly, based on local economic conditions, financial need, and the fulfillment of program performance benchmarks.
