Main Street Milwaukee funding
Each Main Street Milwaukee district receives $50,000
yearly for three years in Community Development Block Grant dollars to
offset the cost of the district’s operations and projects. This yearly
grant must be matched by at least $10,000 in private funds, to be raised
by the districts themselves.
Each Main Street Milwaukee district also receives $50,000 worth of
technical assistance each year for three years, administered by LISC and
funded by LISC and its private-sector contributors. Technical services
include visioning and work plan development, staff and volunteer
training, architectural and planning services, and small business
assistance.
Main Street Milwaukee funding may vary yearly, based on local economic
conditions, financial need, and the fulfillment of program performance
benchmarks.
